North Capital Forum

Institutional Context
The North Capital Forum is a 3-day event that focuses on understanding North America's main challenges, and creating mutually beneficial solutions. The Forum took place in Mexico City from September 28th-30th, 2022. The event welcomed 500 participants, and consisted of 24 panels and more than 140 speakers. Key generators of proposals for the region presented their ideas and recommendations to strengthen the North American integration.

North Capital Forum
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the last day of activities of the North Capital Forum. Secretary Marcelo Ebrard pointed out that the exchange of ideas between the private sector, think tanks, International organizations, government officials, among other relevant actors, will allow for a consensus to be achieved so that the proposals from the various panels materialize into public policies and actions. Particularly, the vision of a more integrated North America that directly benefits all people in the three countries. Secretary Ebrard highlighted the next High Level Dialogue on Security between Mexico and the United States, which will take place in Washington D.C. in October.
Mexican Ambassador to the United States, Esteban Moctezuma, highlighted the importance of trade between Mexico, the United States and Canada, referring to technological advances that will allow us to have more dynamic, efficient and secure borders.
Similarly, Roberto Velasco, Head of the North America Unit, participated in a panel together with Maxwell Hamilton, North America Director of the U.S. National Security Council, and Michael Grant, Deputy Undersecretary for the Americas of the Canadian Ministry of Global Affairs. They discussed the agenda of the tenth edition of the North American Leaders Summit (NALS), emphasizing the importance of the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises in value chains, as well as a common message focused on equality and inclusion.
