The Head for the North America Unit is a public position within the Mexican Secretariat of Foreign Affairs. The Head is in charge of leading Mexico's foreign policy for the United States and Canada.
Working visit by Head of the North America Unit to Miami
On June 15th-16th, 2022, the Head of the North America Unit, Roberto Velasco, carried out a working visit to Miami to strengthen the bilateral Mexico-Florida relationship on economic, investment, commercial, environmental and technology issues for the North American region. As part of the visit, the next Mexico-Florida Commercial Mission 2022 was announced; which will take place from June 19 to 24 in Mexico with the assistance of important companies and state representatives.
During his visit, Roberto Velasco met with the Mayor of Miami-Dade county, Daniella Levine-Cava, as well as with Commissioner José Díaz, President of the Board of County Commissioners and President of the International Trade Consortium (ITC). The visit concluded with a meeting with the Inter-American Chapter of the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, and businessmen and investors of Mexican origin residing in Miami.
